Dear Anonymous VioletReflections List Member:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback. An Editor is always keen to learn of something printed that was not well received. While I wish you could have felt comfortable in sending your feedback directly to me, I would not have responded negatively to you, I must apologize to you with regard to the fact that I obviously offended you with the John Wayne “Quote” in the Dis -n- Dat -n- Dose Topic.

Please do know that I was not making a personal attack on Mr. Wayne. I believe that my introduction to the Quote was poorly written and could easily lead one to believe that this was my personal opinion.

The quote in question was gleaned from a list whose intent is to inform the world, that we, every day Jack and Jill, are not the only ones who commit a “Gaff” in public.  That famous and infamous people in the public eye also are not above sticking their foot in their mouth with regard to something they have said.  The quotes are a matter of public record. That is, they were uttered during a news interview, to a fan when the news media was present or in their Biographies.  Where as Art Linkletter used to say, “Kids say the darnest’ things”, so do we adults. The list from which Mr. Wayne’s quote came from is one of humor and not one of attacking any person. My error, which resulted in your being offended, was not making sure that the reader, you, would clearly understand that this was intended to be, “tongue in cheek”, if you will.

Again, I would like to thank you for your feedback and ensure you of its’ importance in my quest to have the VioletReflections Newsletter be second to none in quality and information.

Respectfully:

Dri-Anna Davis
