JANE'S BIO My name is Jane (or Miniviolets or Hobbit) and I was born in the 1960s. Home is Fairbanks, Alaska with
my husband (Bob), two Yorkshire terriers (Melody and Pepper) and two cats (Kevin
and Benny). I am originally from Canada,
where I worked in Toronto for years as a legal secretary. Now, I telecommute to
my job, and like telecommuting very much more than going in to an office every
day! My passions are growing miniature African
violets and the micro miniatures as well. I like the standard size too, but the
miniatures and micro minis are really my favorites. I have several
semi-miniature African violets and two micro minis that live in a 10-gallon
aquarium. Being a diabetic, one of the
things I like to do is try to make up new recipes that I can eat. I have a BBQ
sauce recipe that I created on my own (with my husband's help of course!). I
entered the recipe into our State Fair here in Fairbanks and won an award for
it. Living in Fairbanks is an
experience unto itself. The winters are long and cold, with little daylight
during December, January and February. But the summers are fantastic, 24-hour
daylight, a baseball team to be very proud of, the Alaska Goldpanners of
Fairbanks, and the most beautiful weather you can imagine!
