HOUSEPLANT EXCHANGE Karen Davis,
Houseplant Exchange Coordinator, is ready to begin! In a recent Post to the
list, Karen said:
It's time to set up the houseplant swap for this spring! I'll be
sending this to the individuals who signed up, but I thought it
would also be a good idea to post it here. Please reply to keppie@softhome.net
My thermometer (here in Southern California) shows the
temperature rising, so please pardon my impatience to start this up so that
people have plenty of time to arrange their trades before summer temps set
in.
Here's what I need from the participants:
1. Your name and e-mail address 2. Your location (full
address if you like, though you can save that for a private exchange
with your partner if you prefer) 3. Special requests regarding
who/where you'd like to be paired with 4. What plants you are likely to
be able to trade (you are welcome to trade AV's along with other
plants) 5. What plants you are looking for 6. Anything else you need me
to know
If you didn't sign up when it was in the polls, let me know,
since it isn't too late!

DID YOU KNOW
.. Rich
Follett, Violet Reflections own Poetry Editor, has been reading and writing
poetry since earliest childhood. He acquired a love of poetry from his
English-teacher mother and from his grandmother Helen, who was particularly
fond of quoting Robert Burns, A. A. Milne, and James Whitcomb Riley. After a
long series of refrigerator publications (thanks, Mom!), he was delighted to
have poems accepted by both his High School and College Literary Magazines.
Since that time, Rich's poetry has appeared in two editions of Poetry From the
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (Loft Press) and in numerous special interest
journals including the Magazine of the African Violet Society of America (where
he has also had two prose pieces published). As a contemporary folk
singer/songwriter, Rich has had several songs from his cds recorded by other
artists; a personal favorite is Hammered Dulcimer legend Maddie MacNeil's
version of his song The Garden. Rich's recordings are available nationally
through Amazon.com. A songbook is slated for publication in the Spring of 2003.
He counts Emily Dickinson, e. e. cummings, and Maya Angelou among his favorite
poets.
